A Threads post by nrcapikah highlighting her husband’s struggles as a courier sparks heated reactions among Malaysian netizens, with many sharing experiences of strict penalties, salary deductions and calling for fairer treatment.
A recent post on Threads by a Malaysian woman has caught widespread attention after she shared the struggles faced by her husband, a courier rider, sparking an emotional and heated discussion among netizens.
In the post, shared by Threads user nrcapikah, she highlighted how her husband works long hours every day but still ends up bringing home a reduced salary due to various penalties imposed by his courier hub.
According to her, deductions over small issues, delayed payments and strict rules have made the job increasingly unbearable, despite the physically demanding nature of the work. Her post quickly resonated with many Malaysians, especially those with family members in the delivery line.
Several urged the woman to take action. dee_ahm18 commented: “You should report this to higher management and explain the situation.”
Others with experience in the delivery line were more direct. shinyatashin, who claimed to be a former courier, wrote: “As an ex courier, sorry to say, this courier job is no longer worth it at all.”
“The penalties now are insane. The cheapest is RM10 just for not taking a selfie wearing the courier uniform. Every hub has a different boss and HQ is really crazy now. The issue is why there was no early briefing about these penalties,” hizuanrazali wrote.
Sympathy also poured in from spouses who could relate to the struggle. muniraaah.__ wrote: “I really pity my husband. He works like crazy, then deductions are made, and salaries are paid late while we still have commitments.”
Other netizens pointed out that working conditions can differ depending on the hub. nurhasnisa shared: “The penalty issue is true, but it depends on the hub. At my husband’s hub, if an item is lost, they just replace it based on the item price. Everything depends on the hub.”
