KUALA LUMPUR: Landasan Lumayan Berjaya Sdn Bhd (LLBSB) has denied allegations and a police report made on April 20 by activist and politician Badrul Hisham Shaharin that it was given land in Dengkil by the Selangor government.
In a statement issued by Berjaya Land Bhd, LLBSB said the allegations are not only baseless and inaccurate but also maliciously intended to hurt its reputation.
Badrul Hisham, popularly known as Che’gu Bard, had claimed that Selangor Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari approved a transfer of 100.04 acres of land in Dengkil to LLBSB and that no premium was paid.
However, LLBSB emphasised that the government had never alienated land to it or any other entity without imposing the required premium payment as per established regulations, adding that Badrul Hisham has alleged that Amirudin had approved the land alienation to LLBSB, as he has a personal interest in the company.
“We have never obtained approval from the Selangor government for the alienation of land to LLBSB.
“Amirudin was merely an LLBSB director by virtue of the 45% equity interest held in it by Landasan Lumayan Sdn Bhd, which is a wholly owned subsidiary of Menteri Besar Selangor (Pemerbadanan).
“Hence, we wish to reiterate that all allegations made by Badrul Hisham are false and factually inaccurate, including previous posts made on various social media platforms.”
LLBSB said on July 29, 2023, Badrul Hisham had also published, republished or caused to be published or republished, similar allegations on a Facebook account under the title of “Anwar Ibrahim and Amirudin Shari bagi tanah nilai RM10 billion kepada tauke judi Berjaya”.
It said on Aug 4, 2023, he had also made similar remarks and/or inaccurate and defamatory statements through a Facebook account under the title of “Jom ramai-ramai laporan SPRM and pendedahan butiran kerajaan PKR-PH Selangor beri tanah nilai GDV RM10 billion kepada syarikat tauke judi (Berjaya Sport Toto)”.
LLBSB said it lodged a police report on Aug 8, 2023, regarding the allegations.
The company said it had instructed its solicitors, Messrs Pierre Chuah and Associates to file a legal suit against Badrul Hisham on Oct 5, last year at the Shah Alam High Court for defamation.
“Badrul Hisham has failed, neglected or refused to enter an appearance despite successfully receiving the cause papers for our suit.
“We are applying to the Shah Alam High Court to enter Judgement in Default of Defence against Badrul Hisham and reiterate our denial of all the baseless and untrue allegations made by him against us,“ it said.
