Amirudin urges Negeri Sembilan voters to return home, fulfil duty

Pakatan Harapan’s Amirudin Shari urges Negeri Sembilan’s 889,490 voters to return home for Aug 1 polls, noting shorter travel than Johor.

PORT DICKSON: Pakatan Harapan (PH) election director Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari has urged all eligible voters to fulfil their civic duty in the Negeri Sembilan state election on Aug 1.

He said, unlike Johor, where many voters have to travel long distances to cast their ballots, most Negeri Sembilan voters work in the Klang Valley and do not face lengthy journeys to return home to vote.

“Despite the unpredictable weather, I urge all voters to return home, fulfil their responsibility and make the right choice for the future of Negeri Sembilan,” he told reporters here today.

Amirudin was speaking after a walkabout with PH Linggi candidate and Negeri Sembilan Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun in Pekan Linggi here.

The Selangor Menteri Besar also said PH would hold a ‘Munajat Perdana’ (special prayer gathering) on the night of July 30, to be attended by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

A total of 889,490 voters are eligible to cast their ballots in the state election, comprising 867,151 ordinary voters, 16,884 military personnel and their spouses, and 5,455 police personnel.

Early voting takes place on Tuesday.
