KUALA LUMPUR: A man and his two-year-old son were killed when the car they were travelling in burst into flames after crashing into the rear of a moving trailer at Km 9.2 of the Kuala Lumpur-Kuala Selangor Expressway last night.

Kuala Selangor district police chief Supt Md Asri A. Wahab said the victims in the 11.50pm crash were identified as Muhd Ridzo Fadzly Rosely, 37, who was at the wheel of the car, and the boy, Ahmad Ariffin Muhd Ridzo Fadzly, who was in the front passenger seat.

Both the victims were pinned to their seats and died at the scene, while Muhd Ridzo Fadzly’s wife and another child were seriously injured, he said, adding that the family was heading to Kuala Lumpur from Kedah.

He said the bodies were sent to Tanjung Karang Hospital for post-mortem, while the injured victims were sent to the Sungai Buloh Hospital for treatment.

Md Asri said the trailer driver, aged 47, was not injured in the crash. - Bernama
