KUALA LUMPUR: Students from the Indian community who scored excellent results in the Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) are encouraged to continue their studies at the Teacher Education Institute (IPG) to meet the needs of Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan Tamil (SJKT).

“I hope this year we get more applications because for 2019, we did not receive enough,” said Deputy Education Minister Teo Nie Ching.

She hoped that more Indian students pursuing their studies at the institute would ensure SJKTs have sufficient number of teachers in the future.

Teo said this when officiating the SJKT Teachers’ Classroom Assessment Workshop at SJKT Kuala Kubu Bharu, Kuala Kubu Bharu, about 60km, from here, today. - Bernama
