KOTA KINABALU: Some organisations in Sabah have launched special funds to raise donations to purchase essential medical equipment and personal protective equipment (PPE) for medical frontliners.

The organisations include Sekolah Menengah Agama Kota Kinabalu (ASMAKK) alumni association which launched a special fund named ‘Tadhamun ASMAKK 2020’ as a sign of support to the medical frontliners, who are fighting hard to combat the Covid-19 pandemic, particularly at Likas Hospital.

Its secretary-general Mohd Idzwan Ashgar said the fund was launched yesterday and it aimed to collect RM30,000 within two weeks.

Members of the public who wish to make donations could do so through the association’s Bank Muamalat account number 1001-0002890-71-5 and ‘Tadhamun2020’ as the reference. A copy of the receipt can be sent via e-mail to alumni.smakk@gmail.com or via WhatsApp to 019-228 2583 or 016-263 8088.

Meanwhile, Queen Elizabeth Hospital’s board of visitors here has also taken a similar initiative, with donations can be channelled through Lembaga Pelawat Hospital Queen Elizabeth (Maybank account 56014868 6840). A copy of the receipt can be sent via WhatsApp to 019-722 3988.
