Cape EMS, Engytech forge strategic collaboration to build Malaysia’s digital infrastructure capabilities

SENAI: Cape EMS Bhd, a Bursa Malaysia-listed engineering and manufacturing solutions provider, today forged a strategic collaboration with Engytech Engineering Services Pty Ltd, an Australia-based engineering and project delivery specialist, to establish a Digital Infrastructure Services and Support platform in Malaysia.

The collaboration is aimed at strengthening Malaysia’s capacity to support the fast-growing data centre and digital infrastructure ecosystem, particularly in Johor, which has emerged as the country’s primary digital-infrastructure growth corridor.
By combining Engytech’s engineering, system integration and operational expertise with Cape EMS’s manufacturing capabilities, facilities and local execution strength, the partnership will deliver end-to-end support services for data centres and mission-critical facilities.

Malaysia’s data centre market continues to expand, driven by cloud adoption, artificial intelligence workloads and regional digital demand. Johor, where Cape EMS is headquartered, has attracted significant interest due to its proximity to Singapore, improving power and connectivity infrastructure, and strong policy support.

With its established footprint in Senai, Cape EMS is well positioned to offer deployment-ready solutions that meet the evolving energy and infrastructure requirements of large-scale digital and data centre projects.

Cape EMS managing director Christina Tee Kim Chin said: “This collaboration strengthens Malaysia’s digital infrastructure capabilities while advancing the nation’s digital-economy priorities. By combining Engytech’s engineering expertise with Cape EMS’s manufacturing base and local execution strength, we are building a deployment-ready solutions platform designed to support the evolving energy and infrastructure needs of large-scale digital and data centre developments.”

She added that the collaboration aligns with Cape EMS’s CEB 2.0 transformation, which focuses on higher-value engineering services, clean-energy solutions, and infrastructure-linked technologies.

A key component of the collaboration is the planned establishment of a Data Centre Academy in Malaysia, designed to address the growing shortage of skilled professionals in the digital-infrastructure sector.

The Data Centre Academy will focus on practical, industry-aligned training designed to meet real operational needs. Its curriculum will cover core competencies such as data centre operations and facility management, network and connectivity infrastructure, power and cooling systems with an emphasis on energy efficiency, as well as smart facilities, operational resilience and compliance requirements.

The academy is intended to equip participants with hands-on skills that are immediately applicable in mission-critical environments.

Both Cape EMS and Engytech reaffirm their long-term commitment to Malaysia, recognising the country’s transition from a regional overflow destination to a strategic digital-infrastructure hub. The collaboration supports national objectives under MyDIGITAL, the New Industrial Master Plan 2030 (NIMP 2030) and broader sustainability and skills-development agendas.
