KPN allocates RM600,000 to 120 KRTs for MADANI satellite programme

The Ministry of National Unity has allocated RM600,000 to 120 KRTs to enhance activities under the nationwide Komuniti Rakyat MADANI Satellite Programme.

IPOH: The Ministry of National Unity (KPN) has allocated RM600,000 to 120 Kawasan Rukun Tetangga (KRTs) to enhance activities under this year’s nationwide Komuniti Rakyat MADANI Satellite Programme.

Minister Datuk Aaron Ago Dagang said KRTs form the backbone of unity at the grassroots level.

He stated that with government support and cooperation from all parties, communities can act as agents of change to build a harmonious, inclusive and prosperous society.

“For 2026, this programme will be implemented in 15 locations outside the Program MADANI Rakyat (PMR) sites, which is an increase from 10 locations in 2025,” he said.

He added that it will include three locations for the Komuniti Rakyat MADANI Satellite Programme, namely the Kenduri Rakyat MADANI organised by each agency.

“This programme is in line with the Komuniti MADANI core programme, one of the key clusters of the Ministry of National Unity for 2026, which aims to foster a spirit of neighbourhood and unity within society,” he said.

Aaron said this at the Perak state-level Mock Cheque Handover Ceremony for the 2026 programme at the Kampung Dato’ Ahmad Said Tambahan 2 National Information Dissemination Centre.

The cheque presented is a special contribution from Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim to the community.

It serves as a symbol of the national leadership’s commitment to ensuring government initiatives continue to reach the grassroots.

Aaron said 301 KRTs have achieved Progressive KRT status, compared with 152 in 2024, through an allocation of RM16 million in 2025.

He added that 529 KRT economic products, encompassing agricultural, food, non-food, tourism and handicraft items, have been successfully marketed.

“The allocation for Progressive KRTs is much higher, reaching up to RM100,000, and with more than 8,000 KRTs nationwide, we cannot assist everyone,” he said.

He stated that KPN will therefore explore additional grant mechanisms, given that some villages already benefit from aid provided by other ministries or agencies.

The Progressive KRT initiative has also proven successful, with some generating profits through various programmes.

Aaron cited the chilli-planting project in Hulu Selangor, which amounted to RM600,000, as an example.
