MACC officer files police report over video targeting Azam Baki

A Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission officer has lodged a police report regarding allegations against chief commissioner Azam Baki in a viral video.

PUTRAJAYA: A Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission officer has filed a police report concerning a video clip containing allegations against chief commissioner Tan Sri Azam Baki.

The video was shared on the “Pejuang Tun Dr Mahathir” Facebook account and features a conversation between a woman and businessman Albert Tei.

MACC confirmed the report was lodged at Putrajaya Police Headquarters to enable authorities to investigate the claims.

The video alleges an individual met Azam Baki to request leniency in a case involving Albert Tei and sought an amicable resolution.

The officer stated the video’s contents were malicious and aimed at tarnishing the chief commissioner’s reputation.

“MACC investigations are transparent and free of external influence,” the commission said in a statement.

The conversation is believed to be aimed at undermining both Azam Baki’s reputation and the MACC’s overall credibility.

MACC’s Strategic Communications Division confirmed the report was filed to facilitate investigations into both individuals featured in the video.
