Johor declares public holiday after JDT wins FA Cup 2025

Johor announces a special public holiday to celebrate JDT’s FA Cup victory, though SPM exams will proceed as scheduled

JOHOR BAHRU: The Johor government has declared today a special public holiday for the state following Johor Darul Ta’zim’s triumph in the 2025 FA Cup.

The declaration follows the decree of the Regent of Johor, Tunku Mahkota Ismail, to celebrate the team’s outstanding achievement.

Johor Menteri Besar Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi announced the holiday in a statement on his Facebook page.

He confirmed that Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia examinations scheduled for the day will proceed as planned.

This measure ensures candidates’ preparations and examination personnel duties remain unaffected.

Onn Hafiz said the victory proves JDT’s excellence and consistency as the nation’s football powerhouse.

He credited the high commitment of players, coaching staff, and management for maintaining the highest standards.

The state government expressed its highest appreciation to Tunku Mahkota Ismail for his leadership in elevating Johor football.

His efforts have enabled JDT to continue achieving success at both domestic and international levels.

Appreciation was also extended to all Bangsa Johor for their unwavering support of the team.

The government hopes this success will motivate JDT to sustain its performance and bring honour to Johor.

In the FA Cup final at the National Stadium in Bukit Jalil, JDT defeated Sabah FC 5-0.

This victory makes JDT the first team to lift the FA Cup trophy for a fourth consecutive time. – Bernama
