Man’s body found after crocodile attack in Sadong Jaya

The body of a man snatched by a crocodile while fishing in Sarawak has been recovered, bearing bite marks to his abdomen

SADONG JAYA: The body of a man attacked by a crocodile while fishing has been found.

The Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) operations centre said the victim, 29-year-old Mohd Faizal Abdillah, was discovered at 2.22 pm.

He was found not far from the Fire Control Post in the area. Fishermen brought the victim’s body to the post, where family members identified him.

“The victim was found in good condition except for bite marks on his abdomen,” the operations centre stated.

The body was subsequently taken to Sarawak General Hospital for further procedures.

The victim had been reported missing after an attack while prawning under the Sungai Buloh bridge yesterday afternoon.

A search and rescue operation was launched immediately after the report was received.

The operation utilised surface water search techniques. It involved personnel from the police, fire department, RELA, and local fishermen’s associations.
