PM Anwar orders progress reports for new education blueprint

Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim demands progress reports on the National Education Blueprint 2026-2035 from March, stressing implementation over planning

PUTRAJAYA: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has ordered all ministries, departments and educational institutions involved in the National Education Blueprint (RPN) 2026-2035 to submit progress reports starting this March.

He issued a stern warning, stating the main challenge is not creating plans but ensuring effective implementation of every policy and programme.

“This is not just a reminder but a stern warning from me, because I am concerned about how many blueprints we launch without seeing proper implementation,” he said at the launch of the RPN 2026-2035.

Anwar emphasised that the blueprint is a major plan for the nation’s future and its younger generation.

He said it would only be meaningful if properly executed to improve education quality and brighten children’s futures.

The new blueprint reflects a comprehensive and phased alignment of national education policy.

It ensures continuity in human capital development from school level to higher education.

The RPN is jointly led by the Ministry of Higher Education through the Malaysian Higher Education Blueprint and the Ministry of Education through the Malaysian Education Blueprint.

Deputy Prime Ministers Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi and Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof attended the launch.

Higher Education Minister Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abd Kadir and Education Minister Fadhlina Sidek were also present.

Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Shamsul Azri Abu Bakar was in attendance.
