KUANTAN: A Thai national was killed and three others were injured in a collision between a four-wheel-drive vehicle and an express bus early this morning.

The accident occurred at a traffic light intersection at KM14 of the Pekan-Kuantan road at 1.15 am.

Pekan police chief Supt Zaidi Mat Zin said the Mitsubishi Triton 4WD was stationary at the light when it was rear-ended by the bus travelling in the same direction.

“The 4WD driver, a 29-year-old man, heading from Pulau Serai towards Kuantan, had stopped at a traffic light when it was rear-ended by a bus travelling in the same direction,” he said in a statement.

Both men were rushed to Pekan Hospital for further treatment.

A passenger on the express bus, which was carrying 24 passengers and a relief driver, also sustained minor injuries.
