Warisan fields Saddi for Kinabatangan, Mazliwati for Lamag by-elections

Warisan nominates former Sukau rep Saddi Abdul Rahman for Kinabatangan and Mazliwati Abd Malek for Lamag in the upcoming Sabah by-elections

KINABATANGAN: Parti Warisan has announced its candidates for the upcoming by-elections in the Kinabatangan parliamentary and Lamag state seats.

The party nominated former Sukau assemblyman Datuk Saddi Abdul Rahman for the Kinabatangan seat. For the Lamag state seat, it named Mazliwati Abd Malek, its candidate for Kinabatangan in the 15th general election.

Warisan deputy president Datuk Darell Leiking announced the candidates at the Dewan Sri Lamag here. He said the selection of Saddi and Mazliwati received the endorsement of the party’s Kinabatangan division.

Leiking stated that the by-elections are a democratic process that must be carried out. He said Warisan is offering the right candidates to bring change to the Kinabatangan parliamentary and Lamag state constituencies.

The Kinabatangan parliamentary and Lamag state seats fell vacant following the death of their incumbent, Datuk Seri Bung Moktar Radin, on 5 December. Bung Moktar was also the former chairman of the Sabah Barisan Nasional.

The Election Commission has set 24 January as polling day for both by-elections. Nomination day is on 10 January, while early voting will be on 20 January.
