This increase prompted the opening of two new relief centres at Dewan Residensi PR1MA Woodford Estate and Masjid Darul Ikhlas. They bring the total number of operational centres in Beaufort to four, in addition to the Selagon permanent relief centre.

The number of victims in three other districts remained unchanged. Sipitang has 421 people from 176 families, Membakut has 321 from 125 families, and Sook has 79 from 25 families.

Beaufort, Sipitang and Membakut are located on Sabah’s west coast. Tenom and Sook are situated in the state’s interior.

The total flood-affected areas across the five districts stand at 146 villages. No casualties or deaths have been reported so far.
