Home Minister Saifuddin Nasution confirms multi-agency probe into businessman Victor Chin, with police and Securities Commission investigating alleged corporate manipulation.

KUALA LUMPUR: Investigations into businessman Victor Chin Boon Long are actively ongoing, Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail confirmed.

The multi-agency probe involves the police under anti-money laundering laws and the Securities Commission.

Authorities have information on Chin’s whereabouts, with any action on travel documents to follow the initial investigation phase.

“The police AMLA team will establish the direction of the investigation,” Saifuddin Nasution told reporters.

He said subsequent steps would identify the modus operandi and contact those involved.

The minister was speaking after attending the 219th Police Day celebration at the Police Training Centre.

On March 16, police confirmed raids on premises linked to Chin in Kemensah and Sungai Long, Kajang.

Chin and his wife were not present during those operations.

In a separate development, Saifuddin Nasution highlighted Malaysia’s global peace ranking.

Malaysia ranks 13th out of 165 countries in the Global Peace Index 2025.

This places the country as the third most peaceful in the Asia-Pacific and second in Southeast Asia.

“The ranking also serves as an important reference for foreign investors,” he said.

He reaffirmed a commitment to maintain and improve this position under national development plans.

Police Day is celebrated annually on March 25 to honour the force’s service and sacrifice.

The date marks the establishment of the police force in Penang in 1807.
