Melaka FC has not decided on a new head coach following the resignations of K Devan and assistant S Subramaniam, leaving the Super League team in limbo.
MELAKA: Melaka FC has yet to decide on appointing a new head coach following the resignations of K Devan and assistant coach S Subramaniam.
Team manager Muhammad Najmi Mohd Nordin said Devan submitted his resignation a day after the match against Immigration FC for personal reasons.
“The management respects his decision,” he said.
Subramaniam submitted his resignation after leading the team against Selangor FC, as interim head coach Mohd Asri Ninggal was abroad.
“The club never asked him to resign and we have requested he reconsider,” Muhammad Najmi added.
He clarified that Subramaniam has no issues with the management and left for personal reasons.
The management has not held an official meeting to discuss a replacement, despite interest from several coaches.
“It is still too early to make any decision as there have been no detailed discussions,” he said.
The club acknowledges the need to appoint a new coach to prepare for the remaining Super League matches.
Melaka FC are currently second from bottom in the 13-team Super League, with only six points from 12 matches.
