Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim and OCA president Sheikh Joaan Hamad Al Thani discussed strengthening the Olympic movement and future Asian Games.
PRIME Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim today received a courtesy call from Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) President Prince Sheikh Joaan Hamad Al Thani.
The meeting focused on strengthening the Olympic Movement in Malaysia through strategic cooperation between the OCA and the Olympic Council of Malaysia (OCM).
Discussions also covered long-term planning for the organisation of future major sporting events.
These events include the Beach Games, Youth Games and the 2029 Asian Games.
Anwar stated that all preparations and directions would be drawn up collectively with OCA member countries.
This collective effort aims to ensure the successful implementation of the prestigious events by their respective host nations.
The Prime Minister described the meeting with the OCA delegation and OCM representatives as fruitful.
