Ford recalls 453,429 U.S. Explorers for rear suspension, battery, and brake issues, risking steering loss and crashes. Free repairs offered

Ford is recalling 412,774 Explorer SUVs in the U.S., citing an issue with ‌rear suspension toe links, which may fracture, leading to a loss of steering control, the U.S. National ‌Highway Traffic Safety Administration said on Tuesday.

The regulator suggested that the dealers replace the toe links free of ‌charge as a remedy for the affected vehicles.

Separately, Ford will also recall an additional ‌40,655 vehicles in the U.S. over battery failures and defects with brake pedals, which increase the risk ‌of a crash.
