AT this point, it is common to encounter unsavoury e-hailing drivers despite ordering the ride according to one’s specifications.
A group of young women were recently left stranded in the heavy rain by their e-hailing driver who only wanted a certain amount of passengers in his car despite their booking specifying otherwise.
Yana (@haelvh) posted her experience on X where she stated that she had booked a ride for her and three other friends, already specifying a four-seater car however, the driver insisted on having only three passengers in his car.
Besides that, the driver had allegedly “rejected” their call, asking him to cancel the ride and even waited five minutes until the ride was no longer valid.
After the ride was no longer valid, Yana’s booking had expired, given the five minute waiting period was over – and was charged a penalty fee of RM3.00, according to an image in her post.
“He rejected our call in front of us and he did this because he wanted the penalty fee,” Yana claimed in her post.
Quoting her original post, Yana said that the driver did not bother properly providing the reason why he did not take the young women and only gestured the number three, while they were stuck in the heavy rain trying to reason with the driver.
Netizens mostly related with Yana’s post, backing her experience alleging that certain e-hailing services have deteriorated and how some drivers “cheat” passengers out of their money to avoid working.
