Joe earnestly wanted to make the passenger feel better as he was crying during the ride.

A heartwarming interaction between an e-hailing driver and an Indian foreign worker has restored our faith in humanity after the driver comforted the Indian national following his father’s demise.

In a TikTok video by @joeoh333, the Indian national was initially seen teary-eyed in the car, heading to the airport. The passenger lamented to Joe how much he missed his father who passed away recently.

“The Indian foreign worker just received news of his father’s death in the morning and shared to a Chinese e-hailing driver (referring to Joe) his lack of will to live.

“Life is tough,” Joe captioned the video.

Both driver and passenger started off with small talk which led to the Indian national talking about his father and how he could not see him and his mother for a long time.

“I cannot cry. I did not go back to India. I miss my father,” he said.

Along the way, the passenger spoke of his father and how his father was worried about him, since he was only son and also brought up his family’s financial troubles.

Later on, the Indian national began to cry, reminiscing of his father and that is when Joe showed concern, thinking of what to say.

“I thought he was okay at first until he started crying. I do not know how to help him. If his situation back home was okay, he would not need to leave his home country to come here and work.

“He must really love his father. The last time he saw him was many years ago,” Joe thought, earnestly wanting his passenger to feel better.

After some contemplation, Joe provided words of comfort to his passenger, reassuring him that his father knows how he had tried his best”.

Joe’s words seemed to have touched the passenger’s heart as he continued to wipe off his tears.

He also told Joe of his future plans after seeing his family back in India.
