LENDING money to a friend doesn’t always mean you’ll get it back. But imagine this man’s surprise when he finally received the money he gave his friend— 22 years later!

Allegedly, 22 years ago, the man and his friend had parted ways in New York. Back then, the man who is of Thai nationality was making USD 6,000 a week as a head chef.

The friend—whose nationality was kept a secret—had borrowed $10,000 (RM46,790) from him. However, they lost contact with each other so he was unable to pay the loan.

Fortunately for the men in question, fate had it that the two long-time friends would eventually cross paths at Bangkok’s Siam Paragon Mall.

Moreover, the Thai national further revealed in the @kanokyai2022 TikTok video that his friend had recalled that he had taken a loan from him 22 years ago.

The friend kept to his word and returned the money to him. His friend further could be seen in the video displaying a stack of $100 bills, totalling $10,000, inside a car before handing it to @kanokayai2022, who was seated in the driver’s seat.

“The world is round, haha,“ the Thai man continued. “Incredible. When I was living in New York 22 years ago, a friend of mine who had once borrowed money from me came to visit and paid me back.”

Incredibly refreshing to see a friendly resolution to financial disputes once in a while.
