So far, no update has been made regarding the name change.

NOW with companies being boycotted left and right these days due to the Israel-Palestine conflict, many Malaysians are checking which company supports Israel or Palestine or choosing to stay neutral.

Recently, local pizza chain US Pizza had to clarify that their name itself is not affiliated with the USA (United States of America) who are supporting Israel in the conflict – but instead the name US means ‘kita’ in Bahasa Melayu.

“Kindly be informed that US Pizza refers to the word ‘US’ (in Bahasa Melayu ‘kita’). It is totally a local incorporated company.

“For the US Pizza outlet at Taman Prima Saujana, Kajang, Selangor, it is a Muslim business entity. This company belongs to my family and myself,” said Datuk Seri Dr Hj Mohd Sobree Hj Ali.

Following the clarification, the local pizza chain on their Instagram page yesterday to playfully suggest a name change, daring their followers that they will rebrand from US Pizza to Kita Pizza if they reached 10,000 likes.

As of today (Nov 20), the post has reached over 10,000 likes but no update has been made regarding the name change.

Netizens were rather confused at the sudden urge of the company to change their name but many welcomed the change, even suggesting to change it to MY Pizza, representing the country.
