PRIOR to the highly anticipated release of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 later this month, Sony has unveiled a PlayStation 5 (PS5) bundle that will include the game. This move is part of its strategy to push sales and aim for an ambitious target of 25 million console sale this year.
In early September, Sony introduced a special edition PS5 bundle, not only offering a digital code for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 but also including an exclusive DualSense controller and console faceplates themed around Spider-Man.
But this time around, a second console bundle has been revealed, but it lacks the same exclusive Spider-Man-related accessories, such as the red and black face plates on the PS5 special edition console. Sony revealed on X (formerly known as Twitter) that it will release a standard edition PS5 console with Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 on Oct 20 in order to mark the game’s debut.
Sony has a history of releasing similar bundles for games like God of War Ragnarok, Horizon Forbidden West, Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. While the price for this Spider-Man 2 bundle was not explicitly stated by Sony, following the pattern of past bundles, it is anticipated to retail for $559.99 (RM2,640).
While Sony is offering various choices for potential buyers considering a new console, those aiming to acquire a PS5 now might find it more appealing to opt for the special edition Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 bundle.
The fact that this package retails for the same price as the Spider-Man 2 console covers and DualSense, each of which has its own retail price, makes it such a bargain. Therefore, if you are aware that you will want those cosmetics in the long run, you should try to acquire the limited edition PS5 console if you can.
The follow-up to the 2018 action adventure by Insomniac Games, Spider-Man 2, showcases Peter Parker and Miles Morales joining forces, utilising their distinct abilities and seamlessly switching during their battles against the formidable foes Kraven the Hunter and the extraterrestrial symbiote Venom.
Notably, this game stands as one of the few PS5-exclusive first-party blockbusters in this current console generation.
