Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim pledges to strengthen Islamic affairs administration through federal-state cooperation, following guidance from the National Council.
KUALA LUMPUR: The government has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening the administration of Islamic affairs in an inclusive and effective manner.
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said this approach aims to safeguard the wellbeing of the Muslim community and ensure lasting national harmony.
He stated the commitment would be realised through consultative cooperation between states, anchored in the Federal Constitution and guided by Malaysia MADANI values.
Anwar made the remarks after attending the 74th Meeting of the National Council for Islamic Religious Affairs (MKI), chaired by the Sultan of Perak.
“His Royal Highness’s guidance and advice, which emphasised leadership accountability, the empowerment of education and sound governance of Islamic affairs, are deeply meaningful,” Anwar posted on Facebook.
He said the meeting reflected a spirit of consensus and unity between federal and state governments in shaping strategic decisions.
Sultan Nazrin Shah urged both federal and state governments to earnestly implement follow-up actions on all MKI decisions and resolutions.
The Perak Ruler stressed that Islam places strong emphasis on education that builds inner strength and produces balanced, holistic individuals.
He underscored that leaders of Islamic institutions must possess unquestionable integrity and be proactive, innovative, and dynamic in execution.
