Johor police are tracking a motorcyclist who assaulted a driver with a wooden stick in a road rage incident at Jalan Utama Lingkaran Dalam.
JOHOR BAHRU: Police are searching for a man captured on video assaulting a motorist with a wooden stick at Jalan Utama Lingkaran Dalam.
The victim, a 53-year-old store supervisor working in Singapore, lodged a police report on the road rage incident.
Preliminary investigations indicate the assault occurred when the suspect, on a motorcycle, became enraged after the victim’s car nearly collided with him exiting a petrol station.
“The suspect then dismounted, approached the man’s vehicle, and struck his hand with a wooden stick, causing cuts and swelling to his right hand,” said Johor Bahru Selatan police chief ACP Raub Selamat.
The case is being investigated under Section 324 of the Penal Code.
Raub has appealed for public cooperation, urging anyone with information to contact any nearby police station or the Johor Bahru Selatan district police headquarters.
