SUNGAI PETANI: A 36-year-old canteen worker suffered 11% burns to his face, neck and chest after being splashed with acid at a petrol station in Jeniang.

Kuala Muda district police chief ACP Hanyan Ramlan said a call was received from a woman at about 3.15am reporting the attack.

The victim is being treated at Sultan Abdul Halim Hospital. Further investigation suggests the incident was motivated by jealousy.

A 36-year-old man, who works as a driver, was arrested and will be brought to court for a remand process.
