“Healing” crocodile at Port Dickson beach triggers fear, jokes

A crocodile spotted at a Port Dickson beach goes viral on Threads, sparking fear, jokes, and fresh debate over beach safety among Malaysian netizens.

A normal beach day in Port Dickson took an unexpected turn after a crocodile was spotted near the shore, drawing reactions from Malaysian netizens.

The incident, shared on Threads by @amin_safri, showed the reptile calmly appearing close to a popular beach area, surprising many who did not expect such a visitor during a seaside outing.

The clip quickly gained attention, especially from those familiar with the area.

One user, liyanasaad23, pointed out how busy the spot usually is, saying, “There are always people riding banana boats around that area, Hibiscus.”

The comment left many worried about how close the crocodile was to regular water activities.

“I once went banana boating at Port Dickson… the banana boat guy asked if we wanted to be thrown into the sea but we said no… but many people asked to be thrown into the water… just imagine if he threw them in and suddenly a crocodile surfaced? Eww, that’s really terrifying… God forbid,” shiorishira commented.

Another netizen, qsborneoescape, expressed concern for families, writing, “Oh no… that spot is where I usually bring my kids to swim at the beach.”

Some commenters said the video confirmed long-standing fears about swimming in Port Dickson. Deeryzal shared, “That’s why I don’t want to swim at PD beaches, even near the edge. There are crocodiles, mate. Scary.”

Meanwhile, arechap19 reminded others that, “Port Dickson really is a saltwater crocodile area.”

“That beach has had crocodiles before. One even washed up dead on the sand. I don’t understand why people still come to swim there,” n.shaaaazaaa commented.

Despite the concern, many Malaysians chose humour to deal with the shock. Sofiamustaffa joked, “Oh no… Mr Crocodile is healing too.”

“He’s just calmly swimming there, isn’t he?” junnnnnnnnnn78 commented.

“Typical croc. Trying to flirt with a girl at the swimming pool,” recalcitrant_melancholic teased.
