Gua Musang fully prepared for northeast monsoon season

Gua Musang has completed monsoon preparations with food supplies delivered to 57 relief centres and 24 forward bases across the district.

GUA MUSANG: Preparations for the northeast monsoon in this district are at optimal levels.

The Social Welfare Department has delivered food supplies to 57 temporary relief centres and 24 forward bases in anticipation of possible floods.

Gua Musang District Disaster Operations Control Centre chairman Mohd Roshdi Ismail said essential supplies including rice, cooking oil, sugar, and retort food were delivered last week.

“The supplies are sufficient to sustain flood victims for between four and five days at designated relief centres,” he told reporters.

Affected locations include SK Limau Kasturi, SK Bertam Baru, Dewan Semai Bakti Felda Chiku 7, and Dewan Orang Ramai Batu 6.

Mohd Roshdi said two coordination meetings have been held at both the operations control centre and incident control post levels.

“PKOB is very satisfied with the preparations made and confident that flood management can be carried out effectively,” he said.

All involved agencies are on standby to play their respective roles during the monsoon season.
