A Malaysian woman recently shared her frustration towards her parents for constantly asking for money.
She shared how her parents had sent a WhatsApp message demanding for Raya money as early as 6am.

“Every time I go back home, they ask for money. Every time I call, they ask for money.
“Even though for the past 10 years I’ve been giving them money every single month. And this year, I’m having financial problems, so I had to stop for a while,” she explained in the widely-circulated Threads post.
The woman further claimed that since she was unable to send money to her parents due to financial constraints, they allegedly said her salary was not “blessed by God” just because she did not give them any money throughout that period of time.
These interactions have left the woman mentally drained as a consequence.
Netizens rallied in support for the exhausted woman and reminded her that she is not her parents’ ATM machine.
“It’s not like we do not want to give her parents the money, but when they constantly demand, we feel as though they only need us for the money and not as their own child,” a user explained.
“Children are not a retirement plan. You chose to have kids, so it’s your responsibility to raise them and take care of their welfare. It’s not a ticket for you to demand anything from them,” said another
