BAC Education Group and IIA Malaysia partner to address the internal audit talent gap with CIA pathways and postgraduate specialisation.
BAC Education Group has formalised a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Institute of Internal Auditors Malaysia (IIA Malaysia), marking a significant step in the group’s commitment to producing globally competitive, professionally credentialed graduates.
The MoU was exchanged at the C-Suite Connect 2026 forum jointly hosted by BAC Education Group and HRD Academy themed ‘Building Future-Ready Leaders for the AI Economy’ at Menara BAC here. IIA Malaysia is the country’s foremost professional body for internal auditors.
The collaboration is in response to a widening talent gap in the internal audit profession at a time when Malaysia’s economy recorded a strong 5.4% GDP growth in Q1 2026.
As Corporate Malaysia scales up in complexity, the demand for qualified, Certified Internal Audit (CIA) professionals is urgent.
Through this partnership, BAC Education Group will leverage its network of institutions—including Veritas University College, Brickfields Asia College, IACT College, Reliance College, University Malaysia of Computer Science and Engineering (UNIMY) and BAC College (Singapore)—to deliver:
CIA Certification Pathways: Tutorial and structured revision programmes for the CIA qualification, including CIA Parts 1, 2 and 3, embedded as elective components within BAC’s MBA programmes;
Postgraduate Specialisation in Internal Audit: MBA pathways with a dedicated Internal Audit specialisation, enabling working professionals to earn a recognised postgraduate degree while progressing toward global certification;
Continuous Professional Development (CPD): Joint workshops, seminars, digital programmes and career engagement sessions targeting emerging risk areas and governance challenges;
AI and Innovation-Focused Education: Collaborative programmes that integrate technology awareness, AI literacy and research into professional development for the internal audit sector; and
Student and Community Engagement: Career talks, awareness programmes and participation in IIA Malaysia’s community to connect BAC students and alumni with the internal audit profession.
“This partnership with IIA Malaysia is about creating a future-ready talent pipeline by integrating academic learning with globally recognised professional certification,” said BAC Chief Future Officer and co-founder Raja Singham.
“Together, we are ensuring that graduates enter the workforce with more than knowledge — they enter with the confidence, competence and internationally recognised credentials to make an impact from day one, while building the adaptability to thrive throughout their careers.”
According to IIA Malaysia president Suhailah Mohamed Abdulla, the collaboration strengthens the institute’s ability to develop more professionals who are both technically proficient and strategically equipped to serve as trusted advisors in Malaysia’s governance ecosystem.
“Our economic expansion demands internal auditors who do more than check boxes; they must actively create, protect and sustain corporate values. This initiative expands our strategic efforts to raise more Certified Internal Auditors in Malaysia and to grow our membership base,” he said.
The MoU positions BAC as an official education provider on IIA Malaysia’s platform, giving IIAM members and their employers direct access to BAC’s postgraduate and professional development programmes.
