Terengganu FC release 18 players including seven foreigners and 10 locals ahead of the 2026/27 Malaysia League campaign

KUALA NERUS: Terengganu FC (TFC) today have released 18 players from last season’s squad as they look to freshen things up ahead of the 2026/2027 Malaysia League (M-League) campaign.

Terengganu Football Club Sdn Bhd chief operating officer Mohd Syahrizan Mohd Zain said that of the 18, seven are foreigners and 10 are local players, who are being released due to contract expiry, loan moves or mutual contract termination.

The foreign players leaving the club are Raianderson da Costa or Careca; Diego Landis; Yan Mabella; Kyaw Min Oo; Junior Sam Ngong; Ehson Panjshanbe; and Shervoni Mabatshoev.

The local players leaving are Engku Muhammad Nur Shakir Engku Yacob; Muhammad Hairiey Hakim; Mohd Saiful Jamaluddin; Mohamad Khalai’f Mohd Naskam; Muhammad Syahmi Zamri; Muhammad Azziq Zahani; Nazul Izamil Zulkifli; Muhamad Baqiuddin Shamsudin; and Muhammad Haqimi Azim Rosli.

“Meanwhile, winger Muhammad Akhyar Rashid, who remains under contract, will be loaned out to another club until the end of the season,” he said in a statement today.

Mohd Syahrizan also expressed his appreciation to all the departing players for their commitment, dedication and contributions during their time with the club, wishing them success in the next stage of their careers.

TFC, under the guidance of head coach Mohd Nafuzi Zain, had earlier strengthened their squad by signing Danial Amier Norhisham, Ahmad Haziq Kutty Abba and Manuel Ott ahead of the new M-League season, which is expected to begin in August.
