WORLD champion and the world’s No. 1 tower runner, Soh Wai Ching, has received a significant boost ahead of a packed domestic and international competition schedule after being officially appointed as Next Energy’s Brand Ambassador during his signing ceremony today.
The appointment represents more than a brand partnership, with Next Energy stepping forward to support one of Malaysia’s most successful athletes as he continues his pursuit of excellence on the world stage.
Through the collaboration, Soh Wai Ching will receive annual support valued at up to RM150,000, covering competition-related expenses including travel, equipment, and other essential preparations required throughout the season.

Soh Wai Ching has established himself as one of Malaysia’s leading tower runners, earning international recognition through his achievements, including becoming a world champion and the World’s No. 1 ranked athlete in the discipline.
The support from Next Energy is expected to provide a timely morale and financial boost, allowing him to focus fully on training and competition while proudly representing Malaysia on the international stage.
The signing ceremony was followed by a press conference where Soh Wai Ching, Group Chief Executive Officer; Steven Chiew, and Chief Executive Officer; Lim Chze Hong shared their commitment to strengthening support for Malaysian sporting excellence.

Soh Wai Ching is set to embark on an intensive competition calendar over the coming months, beginning with the Kuantan 188 Tower Run in Kuantan, Pahang on Aug 1 before travelling to China for the International Vertical Marathon @ Guangzhou Yingkai Plaza on 8 August and competing in the Sedona Sky Run in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam on 9 August.
He will then return home for The Sky Race @ Merdeka 118 in Kuala Lumpur on Aug 22, followed by the Oregon Tower Run at Komtar Tower in George Town, Penang on Sept 6 and the KL Tower Run on Sept 20.
His international campaign will continue with the Metropolitan Sky Race in Barcelona, Spain on Oct 3 before concluding with one of the sport’s most prestigious events, the 48th Empire State Building Run-Up in New York, United States, on Oct 6.
