PARIS: Vitinha scored his first career hat-trick as Paris Saint-Germain came from behind twice to beat Tottenham Hotspur 5-3 in a thrilling Champions League encounter.
The Portuguese midfielder cancelled out Richarlison’s opener with a stunning strike just before half-time at Parc des Princes.
Vitinha repeated the feat early in the second period after Randal Kolo Muani had restored Tottenham’s lead.
On-loan striker Kolo Muani scored twice against his parent club but couldn’t prevent Spurs from slipping to defeat.
Fabian Ruiz put PSG ahead for the first time before Willian Pacho extended their advantage.
Vitinha completed his hat-trick from the penalty spot after Cristian Romero handled his shot.
“It is the first time in my career I have scored a hat-trick and even scored two goals in one match, so it is really special,” Vitinha told broadcaster Canal Plus.
The victory marked PSG’s sixth win against Premier League opposition in 2025.
Spurs took the lead on 35 minutes as Kolo Muani nodded Archie Gray’s cross for Richarlison to head in.
Vitinha’s spectacular equaliser flew in off the underside of the bar just before half-time.
Kolo Muani smashed in his first Tottenham goal shortly after the restart to put Spurs ahead again.
Vitinha responded immediately by collecting Khvicha Kvaratskhelia’s pass and firing home left-footed.
Ruiz put PSG ahead by sweeping in from a Joao Neves back-heel after Pape Matar Sarr was tackled.
Pacho extended the lead to 4-2 when Tottenham’s defence failed to clear a corner.
Kolo Muani capitalised on a Vitinha mistake to score his second and reduce the deficit.
Vitinha secured his hat-trick from the penalty spot after Romero handled his goal-bound shot.
Lucas Hernandez received a late red card for elbowing Xavi Simons in stoppage time.
PSG moved closer to securing knockout phase qualification with their fourth win in five matches.
Spurs slipped to 16th position but remain optimistic about reaching the next stage.
