The caterpillar could be seen moving on top of the laksa broth, among leaves and pieces of onion in a plastic takeaway container.
A woman was left disgusted after allegedly finding a live caterpillar wriggling in her laksa bought from a bazaar.
She shared a clip of the discovery on Threads, where the small greenish worm can be seen moving on top of the laksa broth, among leaves and pieces of onion in a plastic takeaway container.
The person recording the video zooms in on the worm, which appears to still be alive.
The woman expressed her shock in the caption.

“Luckily I noticed it. What is this, Ya Allah. This is why I’m scared to buy food at bazaars,” she wrote.

The video quickly drew attention online, with many netizens reacting to the discovery.
Some users speculated that the caterpillar might not have been cooked together with the laksa.
One user, faatynyuss, commented that it was unlikely the caterpillar had survived the cooking process.
“There’s no way the worm could still be alive if it was cooked in the laksa gravy. It looks clean and fine, maybe it fell into your bowl while you were eating.”
Others responded with humour. User rahim_toyotamy jokingly wrote: “That means it’s fresh.”
Another commenter, shantyenrerajames_, quipped: “Extra protein.”
Meanwhile, another netizen, meamzln, expressed surprise that the caterpillar was still alive.
“Hey, it’s still alive!”
