Malaysian flag displayed during World Cup match sparks pride and curiosity among netizens about the supporter’s identity
A SHARP-EYED netizen spotted the Malaysian flag displayed inside the stadium during yesterday’s FIFA World Cup football match between France and Spain.
The netizen later shared close-up photos on Threads, writing: “Who was the Malaysian at the stadium during the France vs Spain game? Come forward, abang. Thank you for representing Malaysia for people like us who cannot afford to watch the match at the stadium.”
Many netizens expressed pride after seeing the Malaysian flag displayed at the stadium.
The post triggered curiosity about the identity of the “Malaysian”, with many praising the supporter for proudly displaying the Jalur Gemilang on the international stage. However, one netizen questioned why there was also a “JDT Selatan” banner.
The discussion soon shifted towards the cost of attending the match.
“How much does a front-row seat cost? I heard tickets for the final can cost up to RM100,000,” one user asked.
Another user also commented that the ticket prices are very expensive.
