KL traffic police chief aids crash victim on night patrol

KL Traffic police chief wins praise after stopping to help a motorcycle crash victim during Ops Selamat 26 patrol

NETIZENS are applauding the top traffic police officer in the capital after he was filmed coming to the aid of a motorcyclist who had an accident along Jalan Parlimen.

The officer in question is Assistant Commissioner Mohd Zamzuri Mohd, Head of the Kuala Lumpur Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department (JSPT).

He was conducting a routine motorcycle patrol as part of Ops Selamat 26 at around 10pm when he spotted a motorcyclist losing control and falling on Jalan Parlimen.

Zamzuri acted swiftly, providing immediate first aid to the victim and securing the scene to ensure the safety of those around.

According to a post on the Kuala Lumpur Traffic Police Facebook page, the victim sustained only minor injuries.

In the comments section, social media users praised Mohd Zamzuri for personally taking to the streets to conduct patrols during the festive season — rather than leaving the groundwork solely to junior officers.

Speaking to media, Mohd Zamzuri revealed that the victim, a man in his 50s, was on his way to Kampung Pandan when the accident occurred. He suffered minor injuries, including cuts to his hands and legs.

“At the time of the incident, there were no other vehicles at the scene. We immediately assisted the victim and also contacted an ambulance and his family before continuing our patrol,” he said, adding that a married couple nearby had also stepped in to help.

Mohd Zamzuri took the opportunity to remind road users to remain vigilant at all times, urging the public to avoid careless behaviour on the road to ensure everyone’s safety during the festive celebrations.

“Helping the community is part of every police officer’s duty, and we are always ready to do so,” he added.
