Worker allegedly places lit cigarette on bread at supermart

Malaysian woman claims to see supermart worker put lit cigarette on bread; sparking hygiene concerns.

A Malaysian woman recently shared her displeasure after claiming she saw a worker of a major supermart chain place a lit cigarette on a loaf of bread.

In a post on Threads, she attached an image showing a hole in the bread packaging, believed to have been caused by the lit cigarette butt.

According to the woman, she witnessed the alleged incident at the supermart’s Pudu branch.

“Never buying anything from here again, especially from this branch,” she wrote in her post.

Netizens also claimed to have experienced similar situations at the same supermart but in different branches, highlighting a serious issue of alleged negligence in shop cleanliness.

One user mentioned how they have boycotted the major supermart chain for almost two years.

“Most of the shops operate the same way. The one below my apartment has never been clean. There are rat droppings and thick layers of dust,” one netizen alleged.

“I also saw a bread supply truck for one of the shop’s branches in Subang Jaya. I was worried it could have burnt a hole in the bread packaging,” another claimed.

In another post, shared today, the woman claimed that the same bread package was on the shelf.

Seeing this, she had informed one of the staff, who then informed another staff member about the bread. There have been no updates about what has been done about the alleged situation since then.
