Back due to overwhelming response, Berjaya Times Square KL (BTSKL) brought back its indoor Chap Goh Mei mandarin orange tossing event on Feb 8. From 4pm to 7pm, crowds thronged the ground floor of the mall to toss and scoop up oranges in the hopes of finding love.

Commonly known as Chap Goh Mei - Hokkien for the 15th night - in Malaysia, the celebration is known as Yuan Xiao Jie or Lantern Festival by folks in China, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macao.

As dating apps have taken a precedence in this modern age, finding true love or even a date is a daunting task for the younger generation. The tradition and novelty of Chap Goh Mei in BTSKL functions as a blast to the past and a short respite from these dating apps.
