AGC studies investigation papers for Durian Tunggal shooting case

The Attorney General’s Chambers is examining the police investigation into a fatal shooting in Durian Tunggal, Melaka last November that left three dead

KUALA LUMPUR: The Attorney General’s Chambers (AGC) is studying investigation papers related to a fatal shooting incident in Durian Tunggal, Melaka.

The AGC stated it has been briefed by the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) on the progress of the case.

“The AGC is studying and examining the investigation papers submitted in detail to determine any appropriate further instructions, if necessary,” the department said.

It assured that any prosecution decision will be based on the law and available evidence.

This is to ensure justice is served to all parties involved.

The incident occurred on Nov 24 when three men, aged between 24 and 29, were shot dead.

They were killed after one allegedly swung a machete at a police corporal at an oil palm plantation.

A policeman in his early 30s also suffered a serious injury to his left arm during the 4 am incident.

Inspector-General of Police Datuk Seri Mohd Khalid Ismail had previously stated the police investigation was complete.

His party was awaiting a report from the relevant agency before further action could be taken.
