KPDN detects 785 offences in 17 days of Ops Pantau 2026

KPDN enforcement finds 785 offences in nationwide Ops Pantau, issuing RM158,800 in compounds and RM4.27 million in seizures over 17 days

PUTRAJAYA: The Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living detected 785 offences from 40,563 inspections nationwide during the first 17 days of Ops Pantau 2026.

Enforcement director-general Datuk Azman Adam said 613 compounds were issued amounting to RM158,800, with seizures valued at RM4.275 million.

The most common offence was the failure to display price tags, with Selangor recording the highest number of cases.

KPDN received 930 complaints in the same period, mainly involving missing price tags, inaccurate weighing instruments and supply issues for controlled goods.

Azman said 13,436 inspections were conducted at Ramadan bazaars, resulting in eight cases under various trade and consumer acts.

A further 934 inspections at Hari Raya bazaars had recorded no offences as of last Saturday.

He urged the public to channel complaints through KPDN’s official channels instead of social media to avoid complicating investigations.

“Our enforcement division strives to act on complaints related to supply, prices and other matters within 24 hours,” he said.

Ops Pantau 2026 aims to ensure price stability and compliance with trade laws during Ramadan and ahead of Aidilfitri.

Inspections are conducted at premises nationwide including bazaars, markets, grocery shops and shopping complexes.
