MetMalaysia forecasts continued hot and dry conditions in Peninsular Malaysia, especially the north, until January 31, with thunderstorms expected in East Malaysia
KUALA LUMPUR: Hot and dry weather is expected to persist across most parts of Peninsular Malaysia, especially in the northern region, until January 31.
The forecast was issued by the Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia).
Its director-general Dr Mohd Hisham Mohd Anip said wind convergence is expected over Sabah, Labuan and Sarawak from January 29 to 31.
“This condition has the potential to bring thunderstorms with heavy rain over a longer period in the affected areas during that period,” he said in a post on the MetMalaysia Facebook page.
He also advised the public to always refer to the official MetMalaysia website and social media, and to download the myCuaca app for the latest and verified information.
