Malaysia condemns attacks on Iran and retaliatory strikes in West Asia

Malaysia strongly condemns attacks on Iran and retaliatory strikes in West Asia, calling for dialogue and restraint to prevent regional destabilisation.

PUTRAJAYA: Malaysia has issued a strong condemnation of recent attacks against Iran and subsequent retaliatory strikes targeting several West Asian nations.

The Foreign Ministry stated that the military actions, which involved Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, and Qatar, violate fundamental principles of sovereignty and international law.

“Such unilateral military measures risk further destabilising an already fragile region and endangering civilian lives,” the ministry said in a statement.

It emphasised that all parties must exercise maximum restraint to prevent a dangerous escalation with wider global consequences.

Malaysia reiterated that disputes must be resolved through dialogue and diplomacy, in full respect of the United Nations Charter.

The nation called on the international community and the UN to take urgent, decisive action to de-escalate the situation and restore regional peace and stability.
