Anwar retains key ministers to drive economic growth and continuity

Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim retains several ministers to ensure continuity in driving economic growth and addressing public issues in the new Cabinet lineup.

PUTRAJAYA: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim today retained several existing ministers in the MADANI Government Cabinet to ensure team continuity in driving economic growth and addressing the people’s issues.

Deputy Prime Ministers Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi and Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof each retained their portfolios as Minister of Rural and Regional Development and Minister of Energy Transition and Water Transformation, respectively.

Second Finance Minister Datuk Seri Amir Hamzah Azizan was also retained.

Communications Minister Datuk Fahmi Fadzil remains at the helm of the Ministry of Communications, along with his deputy Teo Nie Ching.

Also retained are the Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Law and Institutional Reform) Datuk Seri Azalina Othman Said and her deputy M. Kulasegaran.

The Ministry of Transport portfolio is still held by Anthony Loke, along with his deputy Datuk Hasbi Habibulloh.

Datuk Seri Mohamad Sabu retains the portfolio of Minister of Agriculture and Food Security.

Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture Datuk Seri Tiong King Sing, Minister of Education Fadhlina Sidek, and Minister of Higher Education Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abdul Kadir also retained their positions.

Also retained are Defence Minister Datuk Seri Khaled Nordin, Foreign Minister Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan, Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail, and Works Minister Datuk Seri Dr Alexander Nanta Linggi.

Other retained ministers include Nga Kor Ming (Housing and Local Government), Chang Lih Kang (Science Technology and Innovation), Datuk Seri Nancy Shukri (Women, Family and Community Development), Datuk Aaron Agong Dagang (National Unity), Datuk Armizan Mohd Ali (Domestic Trade and Cost of Living), and Gobind Singh Deo (Digital).

Several deputy ministers were also retained, including Datuk Rubiah Wang (Rural and Regional Development), Datuk Aiman Athirah Sabu (Housing and Local Government), and Datuk Seri Shamsul Anuar Nasarah (Home Affairs).

Others are Adly Zahari (Deputy Defence Minister), Datuk Dr Yusof Apdal (Deputy Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation), Wong Kah Woh (Deputy Minister of Education), Datuk Dr Fuziah Ali (Deputy Minister Domestic Trade and Cost of Living), and Datuk Wilson Ugak (Deputy Minister Digital).
