Sabah cabinet vows unity and progress under SMJ 2.0 plan

Chief Minister Hajiji Noor pledges a united, stable administration to deliver prosperity for all Sabahans through the upcoming SMJ 2.0 development plan.

KOTA KINABALU: The newly formed Sabah cabinet is committed to driving the state’s prosperity and progress over the next five years.

Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor said the state government has the strong capacity to deliver on this commitment, based on its previous achievements and the holistic Sabah Maju Jaya (SMJ) 2.0 development plan.

He emphasised the need to strengthen the state administration to ensure continued political stability and sustained development.

“With this new administration, the Cabinet members and I will reinforce our commitment to maintaining stability and supporting a political agenda anchored on unity and development,” he said in a statement.

Hajiji added that he is the chief minister for all, serving the people of Sabah fairly and without prejudice towards background, ethnicity or religion.

He made the remarks after chairing the first state cabinet meeting at Menara Kinabalu.

The chief minister also announced the portfolios of the 17 assistant ministers who were sworn in before Yang Dipertua Negeri Tun Musa Aman.

Datuk Joniston Bangkuai, Datuk Isnin Aliasnih and Datuk Mandela Malakun will serve in the Chief Minister’s Department.

Datuk Limus Jury and Datuk Sri Dr Ruddy Awah were appointed to the Public Works and Utility portfolio.

For Finance, the assistant ministers are Datuk Ben Chong and Datuk Ishak Ayub.

Datuk Jonnybone Kurum will assist in Industrial, Entrepreneurship and Transport.

The Local Government and Housing portfolio will be assisted by Datuk Fairuz Renddan and Datuk Maijol Mahap.

Datuk Ruslan Muharam and Datuk Hendrus Anding were appointed to Agriculture, Fisheries and Food Industry.

For Rural Development, the assistant ministers are Datuk Samad Jambri and Datuk Juil Nuatim.

Jordan Jude Ellron will assist in Education, Science, Technology and Innovation.

Dr Andi Rizal was appointed to Tourism, Culture and Environment, while Datuk Rina Jainal will assist in Women, Health and People’s Well-being.
