KUALA LUMPUR: Three representatives from the International Sepaktakraw Federation (ISTAF) were invited to the 2023 International Federation (IF) Forum in Lausanne, Switzerland.

According to a statement, ISTAF was represented by its acting president Boonchai Lorhpipat, deputy president Muhammad Fariq Abdul Halim and secretary general Datuk Abdul Halim Kader at the three-day forum which kicked off Monday.

Among the highlights of the IF Forum was the welcome speech by International Olympic Committee (IOC) president Thomas Bach who stressed the vital need for unity in the sporting world against a backdrop of increasing geopolitical tensions.

Bach also addressed the fast-approaching future in the digital world where the rapid developments in artificial intelligence and e-sports provide the Olympic Movement with both opportunities and challenges.

Under the theme of “Sport (R)evolution”, the forum, which gathered 300 leaders from more than 125 international sports federations (IFs) and members, was designed to cover issues that are transforming the environment in which IFs work with inputs from industry experts and influential decision-makers in global sports movement on the latest strategies, technologies and trends. –Bernama
