Selangor FC cruised into the Malaysia Cup semi-finals with a dominant 5-1 second-leg victory over Negeri Sembilan FC, sealing a 6-1 aggregate win
SELANGOR FC stormed into the Malaysia Cup semi-finals with a commanding 5-1 victory over Negeri Sembilan FC at the Petaling Jaya City Council Stadium.
The Red Giants, holding a 1-0 advantage from the first leg, took the lead within the opening minute through a powerful strike by Muhammad Faisal Abdul Halim.
Alvin Fortes doubled the advantage in the 24th minute, finishing off a pass from Charigor Moraes.
Nooa Laine added a third goal just six minutes later with a fierce strike assisted by Muhammad Faisal.
Quentin Cheng headed home before the break to give Selangor a commanding 4-0 lead at half-time.
Charigor Moraes extended the lead further in the 66th minute, chesting the ball in from a free-kick.
Negeri Sembilan’s only consolation came from a Jovan Motika penalty seven minutes later.
The comprehensive 6-1 aggregate win sets up a semi-final clash with Kuching City FC.
Kuching City secured their semi-final spot with a 3-1 second-leg victory over Brunei DPMM FC at the Sarawak State Stadium.
Goals from Ngah Wanja, Ramadhan Saifullah Usman and Jordan Mintah sealed a 6-2 aggregate win for Aidil Sharin Sahak’s side.
DPMM’s sole reply came from Hakeme Yazid Said in the 52nd minute.
