FLYING into Jamaica just got easier thanks to a simplified customs procedure: The Jamaica Tourist Board says you can now fill out the necessary entry and customs form online – before you even get on the plane.

Officials say the new procedure should result in shorter waiting and processing times when people arrive in the country.

The form asks for the same information as the earlier paper version, previously issued on board the plane as it prepared to land or handed to you at the airport when you arrive.

Travel information, including flight numbers and a contact address in Jamaica, must be provided. Once the online form is completed, your data is then sent straight to the customs officers in Montego Bay and Kingston. – dpa
