Four automakers in S. Korea to recall 11,000 vehicles

SEOUL: Four domestic and foreign automakers in South Korea will voluntarily recall some 11,000 vehicles for manufacturing defects, the transport ministry said on Wednesday.

Mercedes-Benz Korea will recall 9,528 units of 14 models, including E 250 sedan, for a faulty fuel pump component as well as 329 units of Mercedes-AMG SL 63 4MATIC+ for bad wiring connections in starter and generator, according to the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, reported Xinhua.

Jeis Mobility, a local electrified van manufacturer, will recall 910 units of ET Van due to the lower part of the vehicle not meeting safety standards.

Volkswagen Group Korea will recall 73 units of two models, including Audi e-tron GT, to fix defective batteries, while BMW Group Korea will repair faulty lights in 141 units of two motorcycle models including R 1250 RS.

Vehicle owners can visit repair and service centres to replace the faulty parts free of charge.–Bernama-Xinhua
