While numerous Malaysians attempted to find crisp new notes to give their little ones for Raya, one woman has offered a clever solution to turn ‘old’ notes into new, crisp ones.
@dkremy took to her TikTok account to reveal her secret. In the 12-second video, the woman was first seen slightly dipping the RM20 note into water before proceeding with the next step.
She then irons them on a flat, wooden surface while showing the other notes that had already been ironed earlier.
“Because it’s difficult to get new, crisp money, so I just ironed the money to make it crisp and smooth. With this, my Raya is good to go!” captioned @dkremy.

This video has since gone viral, gaining over 3.5 million views, with three thousand comments from users.
One user commented that she practised the exact same method to get her old notes to look new for Raya.
On the other hand, another netizen shared that when they tried the same thing once, it didn’t turn out well.
”I once did this to a one-ringgit note… and it shriveled up like a toy note,” shared a TikTok user.
